hi

my eheim 2215 has slowed right down to a crawl with the flow rate really slow.
I have a spay bar and this is visibly a lot slower than normal.
it was only cleaned 3 weeks ago and i've opened it up and cant see an obvious issue.
i even took some filter material out and tried again but it seems its not that.
I also checked that the impeller is gunk free.
Any idea's ??????
and will it still filter ok even though its slow ??
I have an airstone so air isnt a real issue.

When did you last clean out the hoses and other fittings?

I assume the bearings are looking OK and the filter sounds like normal?

All the best

The 2215 is one of Eheim's Classic range. No frills workhorses that with good maintenance will give you years of service.
You may need to change or clean the pipework as Rabbut has already stated.
Open the impeller housing once again and make sure the ceramic shaft is intact and seated correctly.
You will notice 2 rubber bushes one at either end of the shaft, make sure they are not worn, also dbl check that they are seated correctly. This happened to me many times in the past and the bushes were the key.

The shaft goes through the impeller. (lollipop stick). The small rubber bushes are at either end. (the shaft should have one attached to each end) but they are easily removed.
Sometimes the bottom one will remain in the pump casing (check that its in there) the top one you should be able to see. You may easily have lost or displaced these the last time you opened the head up. These will need to be replaced if the impeller is to function properly.

clive did you ever find a cure for your slow flow?
i too have been trying to improve my flow rate which has dramatically fallen off in the past few months.
i have cleaned the tubes and tried running with less media, ensured there are no leeks, etc.
i wonder if the motor has just lost power?

Seems everyones Classic filters are acting up. At the moment I have a 2213 which is suffering from regular blocks. It is normally sloved by removing the intake pipe and giving it a good clean.

Have you been adding any fish recently that create a large amount of waste?
