Could anybody offer any help before i go and purchase some of the eheim taps?
I have a 2213 which did not come with taps which is something that i feel would have been usefull but for just over £30 what did i expect!
Anyway i have found several sites selling these taps for a decent price but i don't know which type i need between the single and double, how do the doubles work? do they push together to enable the pipe to be split into 2 with a tap on each side of the break? If this is the case would i be right in thinking that i would need a double on the inlet and a single on the outlet?

Thanks for any advice as i cannot find a decent picture of these to be able to work it out :/

you need a pair of tap connectors for the intake and output. So in total, you'll have 4 ball valve connectors, each pair connecting to eachother. HIGHLY recommended. How are you cleaning the filter now without them??

:fun:

A bucket! remove the intake pipe and outlet from the tank and let them drain off into a bucket, i then lift the filter into the bucket and carry all into the kitchen for cleaning in another bucket of tank water :/

Pain in the ass hence the need for info on the taps! thanks for the advice

Youve got the idea, definately get double taps for inlet and outlet

For the single taps, they go in the middle of the inlet tubes and again in the middle of the outlet tubes, you turn the tap to the off position and would have to pull one half of the tubing away from the tap in order to full remove and clean the filter.

Double taps means you have 2 taps on the outlet tube and 2 on the inlet, they screw together so to disconect the filter all you have to do is turn the taps (one on each side of the break) and unscrew them, then pull away the filter, no messing with the tubing, when your finished just screw them back together and turn the tap back on, easy

Thanks for the advice and I’ll be going for the double taps, I’m going to try and find a T connector for my 2 Hagen units so that I can have both of my Co2 tubes going into 1 tube which I then want to fix into my Eheim inlet via silicon(does this sound about right?)
