can anyone tell me some information?

i think i have got a pair, because the one is flickering like a krib does and is starting to clear a space in the sand.

any pics of yours would be appreciated  ill post a pic of mine soon :good:

are these fish unpopular or something lol, anyone going to help me out?

I haven't kept your species, Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor multicolor, but I have kept another species in the genus, Pseudocrenilabrus nicholsi. Distinguishing the males from the females is easy. The males are twice the size and very aggressive, as well as more brightly coloured. Females are small, drab, and rather peaceful, pretty close to being safe community fish.

This genus is fascinating, by the way. They breed readily, and the fry are large and easy to rear. Your main problem is separting the male from the female once she's incubating the eggs. A tank divider is the least you can do, otherwise move the male to another tank once she has the eggs. I uesd the old "turkey baster trick" to get her to spit the fry out after a while, and reared them myself. Let her fatten back up for a month or so before re-introducing the male.

Cheers, Neale
