Egg Spots

Would they be visible as small 1 inch cichlids?

If so, would it just be males only, or could females have dummy spots at this size too?

They would be visible at that size but difficult to make out and both male and female can have them. A large number of eggspots usually indicates a male but that will be too difficult to see clearly at that size.
