What do you do other than strangle the rotter when you go to all the trouble of pairing off the bettas priming them and the tank - finally getting them to breed - then after the eggs are just on the verge of hatching the stupid male eats the lot of them. Do I give him another chance or evict him to the naughty tank so he can live out his life with platties and guppies

i'd give him another chance and keep a very close eye on him, if he starts munching pull him out and lower the water level to an inch, many people still sucessfully hatch and raise them this way
