I had this black angelfish for a year now. She had already spawned five times and this week she was becoming fatter and I thought that she was ready to spawn again. Her papilla grew as well. Yesterday evening she was ok but a bit more bloated than usual. I fed her bloodworms thinking again that she would spawn during the night. Instead I found her dead in the morning. I saw some eggs protruding. Could it have been an internal parasite or the cause of being egg-bound?

If she was behaving & eating normally, I would say she was eggbound. Best treatment, for future reference, is to treat with epsom salt. This will clean out the digestive system, releiving pressure, and sometimes cause the eggs to be released. If the eggs aren't released, don't feed at all for at least 2 weeks, and cross your fingers that the eggs will be adsorbed by the body. If the fish makes it, it's parenting days are over, but should otherwise live a normal life.
