Egg Bound Cichlid?

Hi everyone, hope you can help!

i had a pair of Cichlasoma sajica in a 30"x12"x12" tank they used to spawn fairly regularly,

about 4 months ago for some unknown reason, perhaps a particularly aggressive spawning session?, the male died, leaving the female on her own, since then she has layed no eggs.

over the past couple of months i have noticed her getting fatter and fatter and is now at the point where i am really concerned, i am only guessing but i think she must be totally egg bound, if you view her from above she is extremely rounded, from the side it looks like a really severe case of dropsy but the scales are still flat and the fish's behavior is normal.

does this sound like an egg bound fish? is there anyway i can get her to release her eggs?

I dont know if this is egg bound or not, but maybe if you get her a male, she may lay them ?

My female sajica is also really really rounded with eggs but nothing ever seems to happen with her and her mate. Shes been like this for about a year!
