I put the tank light on earlier and noticed the filter wasn't running!! :shout:

Anyway after investigating realised the filter which is an european 2 pin plug was iffy in the 3 pin uk plug adapter they sent with the filter,i must've knock the wire over an hour earlier when i fed the fish

I didn't like the fact if it was that easy to upset the current i decided to cut the wire back and wired a 3 pin uk plug on it!

Would this have affected the filter at all? ,i just tested the water and ammonia/nitrite is zero

nope not at all...will be fine

As mentioned, you will be fine. Nitrifying bacteria are slow to die off. As long as the media stayed wet, an hour isn't a problem. Even periods of 12 to 24 hours will only cause a loss of about 8 to 15 percent of the bacteria. I accidentally left one of my filters off for about 12 hours before and never saw even a mini-spike of ammonia or nitrite.
