Ive just saved my betta from certain death from being stuck behind the filter :S she has a huge gash in her side from struggling to get out, I'm really worried for her and I wil be going to my lfs tomorrow to get a temporary container. ATM shes in a community tank but eventually I will have here in her own cube, while the lights are on is there anything I could do to maybe help her through the night, also have a 5g nano cycling at the mo, if I did a water test tomorrow and everything is a ok should I move her to that or will it cause her more stress?

you definitely need some anti fungal/bacteria meds to stop infection getting in.

personally i would move her to stop others attacking her, plenty of daily water changes should heal up

Yea had a similar issue with my powder gourami doing the same thing but the damage is a bit worse on the betta just spoke on the phone with an aquatics specialist I know and he said let her heal up over tonight, check the water in the other tank, move her and then run a treatment on her, I just hope she's ok she's my favourite

isolate her if you can, even over night fish know when theres a weak one there and will attack her :(

How are you cycling the other tank? If it's properly cycled definately move her!

Tank has been cycling with mature media for 2 weeks but I changed the gravel gonna test watter tomorrow and if alls good I'll transfer her

You were giving a source of ammonia right?
