Eeeerm Fry Have Hatched.

Well, my girlfriend was trying to do something nice and bought me a male betta without me knowing the other day. She was waiting until I seen him before she said anything and I only noticed the next morning that she had put him in a tank with two females its a heavily planted tank with 5 cherry shrimp in there and the betta's so I didn't see him in time.

When I did notice him it was too late as he had already built a bubble nest and was breeding with one of the females. Couldn't believe it, if I wanted them to breed they wouldn't. Had never seen them breed before, pretty amazing.
But now the fry have hatched, I'm nervous. I didn't actually want them to breed as I don't have the room.
Kids are amazed by it though. Hopefully all of them will survive.

Congrats. i'm amazed that you could breed them with liitle effort. Well done

Me too. From what I read/heard you had to feed them bloodworm for weeks and do all sorts of stuff. First I knew he was in there was when they were breeding. Needless to say I have since thanked the girlfriend but said for her not to put a male in with females again.

Your absolutely right. ive heard that you have to fatten the female up with meaty food and live stuff like daphnia. Again well done. f i were you i'd let my girlfriend pick the fish in the future lol
