go to www.eco-sphere.com At first I dismissed it, but upon close scrutiny the system behind it seems sound (albeit oversimplified). The system is based on the symbiosis of the algae and the shrimp, and if the level of either rose to high, the other would die. The only problem I see with it now is that it seems like it would be very easy for the chemical balance to be upset, i.e. too much algae or two little algae. The only thing preventing it from being a biologically enclosed system is ight, which has to be controlled by the user. Is this product legitimate? Set aside your suspicions and predispositions for just a moment, read the site, and let me know what you think. thanks for reading

edit: Sorry, I just realized that there have been a couple other posts on this, but your thoughts are welcome anyway, since none of the other posts are really very definative.

This has been around for a really long time and I knew someone who had one when I was a kid. If anything fascinated me scientifically it was that. Will never forget seeing it and having it explained to me. :)

I think its great.

I've known people who had them and they survived for years. Mine died after a few months, probably because I didn't supply it with enough light... they're really cool little systems, all the same. If your shrimp die within the replacement period (6 months to a year depending on the size of the sphere) they will replace your sphere for free, just pay shipping, so not a bad deal if you ask me.
