Ok I just got a new betta yesterday and I was going about cycling the water and everything when my dad told me about this stuff he has for our pond outside thats called "Pondcare ecofix, bacterial pond clarifier" now i have this betta in a 5 gallon and was wondering if i can add this stuff as long as its in the right amount or to just cycle it like normal. Any help would be appreciated.

Anything that is made for ponds is made for pond fish.. ie goldfish and koi carps etc. And usually they are very strong :) unless the ingredients are confirmed safe and all, i would'nt use it.
Also have you cycled your tank yet?

Bret :)

I havent cycled it yet and i was going to use this to help in the process but i guess I'll just do it the old fashioned way. Thanks anyways

well, you don't have to. but if the tank is cycled you don't have to clean it as much as often, which is a common solution for anybody with larger tanks, like 5g and up. smaller than that and it isn't really worth it.

Dont whatever you do, use that stuff to cycle an indoor tank. Especially one that small. Ecofix is not designed to cycle tanks or ponds. It is under the brand API. They produce a product called Biostart for ponds, and for indoor, Stress Zyme.
