I am thinking of buying a GEN-X Titanium Heater.

500 Watt for a 125.

Anyone ever use thyis product and what do you think of it.

I love the forum for product reviews...it is the best place to get honest answers.

:dunno:

I bought it ...it malfunctioned.....soared the temp to 100 degrees....killed fish....was replaced by company I by from for free with a different brand that I trust.....and was removed from their catalogue. LEARNED MY LESSON! Stick with what you trust.....

I heard that the newer ebo jagers (last couple years, I guess) are not as good as the older ones. I haven't had trouble with my visitherm heater and just bought a second one for my small tank.

I've heard that they were the best. Your story is the first negative review I've ever seen of them, all others have been 'never ever ever gone wrong in the past 4000 years' kind of reviews.

I suppose every company has a few malfunctioning products. :dunno:

I have many Ebos and never had any problems. Eheim is a premier manufacturer of aquarium supplies- Ebo would only get better if bought out by them.

I just found something that someone posted on a review site about them. At least one person in the thread said that they used to be the only heaters they would use but in the past couple years, they've had to replace xx amount of them and wouldn't be buying anymore, and a couple of others concurred. I found it by doing a google search on ebo jager heater.

Well, I bought one because of the high wattage...for a 125...two is better but that is somtimes hard to get a client to see....sigh....and mine was bought at the end of last summer....

Hi..I have 3 Ebo Jagers. Wouldn't buy any other brand. Rock stable temps. Solid heater. I have a 200W EJ in my 46G set at 75 degrees. The LCD thermometer on the OTHER side of the tank never wavers from the green bar at 75. I just bought another for my new nano tank. Good luck. SH
