I`m planning on setting up a breading tank to cater for most of the species of fish i have both egg laying and livebearer fish

what i am wondering is if there is a species of fish that i could leave in the tank all the time even with new born fry swimming around?

I think i heard somewhere that cory`s are ok but i thought i`d better check before i stick a group of them in a tank with new born fry lol

Richard :)

Sorry but most fish eat fry. Unless you get a algae eater that only eats algae, but even that is hard. Let's see here otos are good... sorry not too sure.

try endlers they are Livebearers but donnt eat there fry

guppies and endlers dont eat their fry ime. in a 10 gal i have 5 preg females and 20+ fry. when they drop i put them back in the main tank

You mentioned cories so I presume you are not only thinking livebearers. Catfish like plecs don't and cichlids don't, in fact both activley guard their fry.

As far as i know, guppies do eat fry, its only after birth or at the time of birth the mother has a high level of hormones which means she doesn't eat anything , in my experiance they eat anything they see, and can catch..Rams tend to protect teir fry

Just about all cichlids will die for the young, even attacking humans when putting there hand in the tank.
