Hello! My vallisneria spiralis has been growing rapidly since ive bought it but every week or so when i trim the plant i notice holes in the plant. The hole look like a slug with non-aquatic plants. I have a few pictures to show the plant. The fish that i have are neon, glowlight, and von rio flame tetras, celestial pearl danios/galaxy rasboras, gold gourami, rainbow shark, and two bolivian rams.

Btw i just realized i spelt eaten wrong sorry!

and it's now reading correctly.

Not a lot eats vallis if it's happy, although it can happen.

Looking at it I wonder if you've got some deficiencies going on. Personally I have a theory that it needs more calcium than most, which is probably why I can't grow it in some of my tanks. Particularly an issue with nutrients when it grows quickly, my best success with vallis has always been when it grows slowly but steadily.

Yeah it is growing very fast. I was thinking about trimming all of its leafs so they touch the surface of the water and dont bend over and see how the progression goes. And maybe ill notice something, it seems like the holes appear right when its done growing that part of the plant and then i trim it and it continues. The holes arent appearing towards the base of the plant.
