Hi,

I've decided to plant my 33 gal tank, I've had a few plants in the past but only 3 or 4 at a time.

My tank is 33 gal with 2 x 28W T5 bulbs equalling about 1.7W per gallon of light.

The tank has pettex roman lakeland gravel and will be dosed with both flourish excel liquid co2 and tropica plant nutrition+

I eventually want it fairly heavily planted but will start light and build up slowly.

Any suggestion what would work well under my conditions? I've only really had amazon swords in the past.

Regards for any suggestions

Andy

Edit, also forgot to add that at christmas time I'm hoping to get an injection co2 system for the tank, been looking at this system, not sure if its any good so any comments would be helpful -> Co2 System

hi i grow all these plants in the same conditions you have stated and without co2 and they all grow very well and healthy i just dose ferts
Aponogeton Crispus
Aponogeton Boivinianus
Aponogeton Longiplumulosus
Bacopa Caroliniana
Bacopa Monniera
any cryptocoryne and anubias
Hygrophila Polysperma
Hygrophila Augustifolia
Sagittaria Platyphylla
Water Wisteria

Thankyou Jacko

I'll note them down and see which my local maidenhead aquatics have in stock.

What ferts do you use jacko? In the past I've only dosed liquid co2, I didnt realise about adding ferts so my plants in the past have only lasted 6 months tops so hopefully will have more luck this time round

Thanks jacko,

I have looked at javaplants before as well as plantsalive.co.uk

Just been to my local pets at home (I never buy fish from there but their plants are normally good) and my local maidenhead aquatics but both had a poor selection instock and also the quality wasn't brilliant.

Quick question, on javaplants, when it says for example £2.50 for 5 plants, is that 5 bunches? or 5 single stems?

its 5 single plants my advise would be to buy the potted i bought a potted crypt and another crypt on the 5 plant option when i split the pot i got 7 plantlets out of it so since then i buy potted plus you ussually find a more developed root ball on the potted plants so they get established much quicker
