to TFF, Matt! Hope you enjoy it here.

Just wanting to check, are you going to cycle the tank? If you havn't already, you might want to read THIS.
I realize asking that may be unnecessary with you getting that size tank but I wanted to make sure.

I am setting up a 6ft tank as well, HERE is my journal on it. Not sure if we like the same stuff but maybe it will give you ideas? :)

Looking forward to whatever you come up with!

Thanks for the links Ninjouzata, the plan is to cycle the tank for a month using some filter media out of a mates tank then slowly start to introduce some small fish and see how we get on, but before any of that i need to sort all the orniments, back drop etc out.
Good job with your tank aswell, that will look the part when its all set up and running

. Can i ask where you got the back drop from? looks alot better than all the ones i've seen, i'm almost thinking of having a plain painted back drop as i havn't seen anything that looks decent or not repeated over a 6ft length.

Cheers
Matt

Are you going to add ammonia during this month? If not it will just be sitting there doing nothing. Definitely a good idea to get the decorations beforehand IMO.

Thanks! I got the background HERE, the one we used is 'Natural Mystic', in the 72"x24" size. We had to trim it to fit the height of the tank.
We applied it using THIS, though we found out baby oil works just as well when doing another tank.

Solid backgrounds are great I think, I would have gone with a solid black if it weren't for one of the fish I plan on getting. I wouldn't be able to see him that way
