Eastern Newts

I'm going to get an eastern newt from around my house and i already know what I'm going to feed him and where I'm going to house him and everything. I just need to know what temp to keep the water at and any other info I might need to keep these little newts. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks for that site, really helped. Now does anyone know if i can just find these newts in a stream by my house. I live in Virginia and I've seen the orange eft stage of the newts around during spring but I was wondering if its possible to find them in the creek outside.
