So i just go out, dig a few, wash them and put em in the tank??? That means its time to go and try tame my little spine eels!!
Cheers, Joemuz

I read you should put them in newspaper for a few hours (or something to that effect) to purge them of all the crap inside & make them cleaner. Obviously, if fertilizers are used in your garden, you shouldn't feed them at all.

We dont use any ferts, il dig them out of a fresh patch of compost and just wash them, the newspaper idea worrys me, dont ask why its just some things im not comfortable with using, you probs all now thinking "nutter!" lol Thanks, Joemuz

i'm not sure about newspaper but the theory that you leave animals a while before feeding them to your fish is sound, you don't know what they've eaten so therefore don't know what you are feeding your fish.

i've heard (and i don't know if this applies to wroms or not but it was some sort of creepy crawlie) that you should put them in a tub with some fresh carrot, when their poo turns orange you know they've got everything previous out of their system and are therefore safe to feed your fish

yeah but in the wild what would they eat?? Im not being funny or having a go at anyone but im shure there not fussy bout the worms they eat in the wild as worms are a natural food source for most fish in there wild enviroment so shurely it can be that bad not to leave them a while before you feed them to your fish.
Cheers, Joemuz

nope your right fish aren't half as fussy in the wild, they also have a significantly higher mortality rate! ;)

your fish it's your call

Stanley knife blade and chop them up....excellent food if collected from a clean source. I purge mine in a saucer of milk for a couple of hours prior to feeding.

Be very careful that no pesticides have been used in your area. Many LFS's sell them live as red worms though if you want a clean source.

Pfft, I just squeeze the poo out of the worms, chop them up and put them in a container with water. When you have them in the container you should swirl them around a few times.
