Earth Eater - Hole In The Head

any one else here keep Geophagus Jurupari as mine has started to develope hole in the head disease. so just wondering if any Geophagus Jurupari keepers have experienced the same issue and if they managed to fix it.

i know its happens normally with oscars and the like but apparantly Geophagus Jurupari have a habbit of getting it sometimes.

tank is 6 foot good healthy stocking clear water and no other fish problems. fluval fx5 is the filter with a uv filter as well. wtaer changes regularly.

any ideas peeps

Jurupari are very sensitive and can be prone to HITH at the best of times,
Unfortunately the two main causes of HITH are poor water conditions or a poor diet.

So in order to attempt to rectify it you will need to increase the number of water changes, feed a varied diet along with possibly a vitamin tablet sparingly and treat with something like Octozin

slow reply but sorted , healed very fast and all it took as buying some vitamin enriched dried food
