I have just bought some E tennellus and was wondering how fast it grew and is it hard to grow?
Thanks, Joemuz

When you initially plant it there will be a lot of dying off, but once it is established it takes off and sends out runners all over the tank. High light levels and a decent substrate will help a lot. Try not to let the growth become too dense, as you might start getting algae in there.

so do you mean they look preety unhealthy at first but they are actually growing?
Mine look pretty grim this morning and they have been in there since last night.
Thanks, Joemuz

Yes, most of the original leaves on mine died, but after a week or so they had bounced back and I am now struggling to control them.

People often find the leaves dieing due to the plant getting used to water. The leaves are thin when in water and fat when not. So thats why people claim their plant has changed over time when first bought.
