-_- I am not sure if it is dying or what! I currently have 4 Mickey Mouse Platys and 6 Zebra Danio. Two of the leaves were covered in a dust of brown algae and both slowly wilted and decomposed into gravel. I am not sure what the name of the plant is, it has broad leaves and about 5 or 6, now has 4. What is happening?

OK, I looked at some freshwater plants. I think it might be a species of Sword. I am pretty sure it is a mid-ground plant.

Most swords will want moderate light to grow. A few will survive in lower light. Brown algae is not algae at all but diatoms, which are usually found in low light tanks. Thus, I suspect the problem with your plant is that you do not have enough of the right kind of light for it.

Assuming you have a moderate sized regular shaped tank, you will want 2Watts per gallon of full spectrum, (5000K - 6700K), fluorescent lighting turned on for 10-12 hours a day to get "Moderate/Medium light.

OK. I know that the Brown Algae isn't REALLY algae. :) But, it was on the 2 leaves.
I finally took a picture of the plant. You can kinda of see a think layer of beard algae. It is sort of pretty. :fun: It makes it look more like the ocean, I don't think they scrape away algae on river rocks? :D
Here it is (bigger):

Plant does not look like a sword, looks like a Crypt. sp.
