I NEED HELP...
My 3 year old Parrot fish is pale, bloated, hanging at the top of the tank and not eating x 4 days. the other fish in the tank are fine except for one other parrot fish who is staring to become pale from the lips down to belly, it is not bloated yet though. I did a partial water change, added salt and check water which is fine. No one can seem to help me..its not bloat...I NEED HELP PLEASE BEFORE MY FAVORITE GIRL DIES!!

We need some more information to help you.

What are the exact readings for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH?

How large is the tank and what tank-mates does the fish have?

Do you know of any time in the past when the parrot has been exposed to elevated ammonia and nitrite levels?

Bloated belly could be:

1) Dropsy - caused by organ failure

2) Internal bacterial infection

3) Constipation

If 1, nothing can be done. If 2, anti-biotics may be needed and a decent anti-internal bacteria med is a minimum. If 3, a pea could solve it short term (cooked, de-shelled and chopped) but may be too far gone to save.

Does the fish have raised scales at all?

Please answer the questions and others may have some more input in the morning. Can you get a photo of the fish?

Try feeding peas could it be constiption?

TRIED IT. IVE HAD A FISH WITH CONSTIPATION AND DID THE PEAS THING...IT WORKED!! THIS GUY IS BEYOND CONSTIPATION. WONT EVEN EAT PEAS. BUT TODAY IS DAY 6 AND SHE IS STARTING TO PERK UP A LITTLE (AND I MEAN A LITTLE). SHE ACTUALLY POOPED BUT STILL ISNT EATING. WE HAD GIVEN 3 KINDS OF ANTIBIOTICS AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT MIGHT BE WORKING!!
