in my 30 gall tank, i have 1 rhino plec, 2 swordtails, 1 platy, 2 angelfish and 5 guppies...3 days ago, one of my swordtail had ich and i am still treating it, now the infected swordtail is always at the top of the tank and not eating, depite raising the temp, there are still white spots on its tail, it has also lost its colour. my guppies are not infected with ich as far a i can tell but their eyes have turned black, i mean all their eyes are all black...but they are still eating but are always hiding in a corer and not moving around much like in the past...however, my platy, angelfish and plec are all fine...

ammonia: 0

nitrite: 0
nirate: 20 ppm

i also do regular water changes ..so whats wrong? any help would b greatly appreciated.

When you started treating the tank, and/or increased the temperature, did you increase aeration at the same time?

if the temperature is too high it could be causing problems but I would guess you overdosed the tank.

To work out the volume of water in the tank
measure Length x Width x Height in cm
divide by 1000
equals volume in litres

When measuring the height, measure from the top of the gravel to the top of the water level. If you have big rocks or driftwood in the tank, remove them before measuring the height.

Remove carbon from the filter before treating otherwise it will absorb the medication out of the water.

my tank is 30 gallons and i did not overdose...i follweded the directions on the bottle...i did increase aeration...i heard that aquarium salt helps and im gonna buy one packet tomorow

I wouldn't add the salt with the plec.
Never heard of eyes turning black before.

Sounds like TB. Here's a link you might find useful:

Have you ever lost any fish to bent spines or going really thin?

The range of symptoms with TB is immense . . . Anything from wounds that won't heal and blanching, to spinal deformity and emaciation.

Sorry, but I suspect the swordtail might have it, too.
