Hi, i have read lots of books on troipcal fish but none of them describe the symptons my fish have. There spines have curved into an s shape, the inside of there gills is red also there tail fins close up and droop (platys) they still feed apart from one which hides (a gourami) they are gradualy dying one by one i have checked water quality, the test kit says its ok?

Hey - thats not really enough info.

How bigs the tank, how long has it been running for ?

What are your water stats, exactly what are the readings and how are you getting them ?

There are alot of people on here who can help you, but you really need to give more info to get a decent answer.

Really need to know
Tank Size
How long its been running
Temperatue
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
PH
Any new fish added
How often do you do water changes and how much ?
How do you change the water ?
What test kit are you using ?

Try to answer these and we can try to help you. :good:

Need water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph as red gills can also be due to poor water quality.
Fish can get gill flukes they can get them internally as well, as bent spines can be old age, fish tb, to internal parasites.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
Gasping or laboured breathing.
Swimming in a jerky movement.
Any fish gone thin also.
