I bought some dwarf sag and some vals online and i guess they didnt survive the arizona heat in the mail and they lost their leaves/stems. The roots still look a little white, but have faded to a brownish white.

Will the plants have new growth or should i consider them DOA?

Thanks,

mitch

try planting them and wish for the best, i guess its best to give the plant everything it needs to help it recover (ferts, light, c02) :) who knows! :)

hope this helps.

btw dont plant all the plants, just those who look healthiest because if they are DOA, planting them all at the same time might pollute the water

I'm not sure if it works for vallis and dwarf sag, but when I got my first set of plants I was advised to float the cuttings for a couple of weeks...give them a chance to grow roots and they are closer to the light. I was also given a beginners guide and it said to not worry if the leaves all fall off certain species as the stress of the journey can appear to kill them, but new leaves do grow. Pull off the dead leaves right at the base to encourage more growth.

Ok so the leaves all fell off by now, when should i start to see regrowth?

Btw, i have ferts/co2/2.5 wpg.

Thanks

from my limited experiences, I would say that I have seen definite growth on most of my plants within a 2 week period...I would imagine that by this time, if they're not growing they will be showing real signs of dying off.
