hey, i was wondering if i could put 1 dwarf puffer in my 2.5 gallon tank. he would be alone with a couple of life plants and few ghost shrimp, sand substrate, heater, and a filter made for a 10 gallon tank. right now i have 2 guppies in there, but im thinking about moving things around a little. is the tank too small?

would it be impossible to keep the dp in the 2.5g? i know 5 gallons per dp is the general rule of thumb, but if it's just one, would he be okay?

Absolutely agree wih the Freak, With puffers it's not just about space, it's about water quality for this very messy fish as well.

And needless to say, those shrimp would eventually be eaten too.

okay, i'll opt for the 5 gallon before i get a dp. Thanks for all the info! that link really helped, Puffer_Freak

Have to go 5 gallons, not just a matter of space, it will be much easier to keep the water quality up with a larger tank.
