dwarf platy

I just picked up 3 female dwarf platy. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with them.

Can they breed with regular male platy? (I was told they can from the Petsmart person I got them from)

Any "dwarf" platy that I have seen has been a coral platy, they come in several color varieties. Had some red ones a few years ago, they are wonderful little fish and very prolific.

I guess they could breed with a regular platy, I have never given it much thought, but they would probably be just another variety of the same fish. Platies and swordtails are both Xiphophorus (hope I spelled that right), can interbreed.
Just realize that the resulting babies will be something like the "assorted platies" tank you see at your LFS, not much to look at.
