I ordered dwarf onion plants from aquariumplants.com a while back. They've been in my tank for a while, and they have been unimpressive to say the least. In pictures, they are shown bunched together, in a spiraling-like outcome. Well, mine just kind of point straight up, yet contrasting kind of interestingly with reddish rotala walachii and crypts. But, I always thought the plant was not thriving, and the pictures I have seen look much better than it does in my tank. It's my birthday today, and my wife bought me a plant species guide (101 species) and a great instructional book (encyclopedia). One of them warns against the dwarf onion in the aquarium, stating that it is not a true aquatic. You would think that a specialized plant seller would not be marketing it as an aquarium plant if this is the case. At any rate, I wasn't happy with the shipment. I ordered plants that would not be eaten, and the various types of onions were in varying states of conditions. I lost half of them, which is not easy to do with that plant family. The java fern matt was in terrible condition, and the melon swords were a joke. Does anyone have such a company they would recommend in the United States?

Aqua Botanic is a really good place to order from. They are based out of Oregon I think. All the plants I have ordered from them are in really nice condition, healthy, reasonably priced, and really fast shipment. I have ordered 90% of my plants from there.

Also Arizona Aquatic Gardens is a good store as well.
