Hello all,

I have posted before on other parts of the forum, I have lost 2 fish already this week. They had no obvious signs of illness appart from slightly reded gills. My gurami was on his side this morning and breathing fast with a rather bloated belly.

I have treated the tank this week with interpet anti internal bacteria. i added the second dose today (4th day) as instructed on the bottle. I have also treated the tank with sludge buster which you can dose with the other treatment. The sludge buster was added because i was worried about them eating anything mabe that has gone a bit sour.

I am gutted because the gurami was a really nice one and he has just passed on. Is there any other recommendations?

Water stats are all fine.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph.
What do you feed your fish.

Are the scales sticking out.
Epson salt baths to help draw the fluids out.
Once scales stick out organ failure and the never seem to make it.

Red inflamed gills can be bad water quality, gill flukes, to bacterial gillrot.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
Any excess mucas on the gills or bdoy of the fish.

I have lots of different types of fish but i have lost the more easyer fish to keep it is weired. i have cardinals not lost one. i think they are eating crap (sorry) from the bottom. treating now wish me luck

Red gills can also be bacterial gillrot if water quality is good.
Your using a bacterial med so hope that does the job.
