Hello,

I saw there was another topic like this but mine question is kinda different. I want to a pair of Dwarf Gourmi a male and female, is this alright?

Some people say to get only 1 male on his own. Others say to get 3 males. Others say to get 2 females and 1 male and the one i've heard the most is to get them in a pair. Which do you think is best? Preferably i would want to get them in a pair.

I'm getting a bit confused.

Thanks

Best option is one male to a minimum of 2 females. That way any attention the male gives the females won't be 100% concentrated on one. Which can stress the female somewhat.
Never get more males than females. I believe some keep their dwarf males with other males without too many difficulties, depending on tank size, but it's not something I personally would recommend. Not that I'm a dwarf expert by any means!
Hugs,
P.

Hi Gnatfish

It is best to have the ratio of 2 (or more) Females to 1 Male, as the Males tend to be aggressive. What it is meant to do is spread the attention the Male gives over more than one female.

Hope this clears things up

Do people think that i could have 3 dwarf gourmis in the tank thats in my signature? What about 1 male?

Thanks
