Fish Fanatic
I've been looking at what fish to put in my tank. At the moment I've only got 3 albino cory's and a couple of shrimp. I'm thinking of putting the corry's in another tank with a sand substrate as the larger tank has small black gravel. From what I've been reading the cories would prefer the sand, (and yes I will be geting three more to keep them company!)
Anyway, I've been looking at the dwarf gouramis and wondering if my tank would be suitable as a species tank for them. It's a juwel trigon190, fairly heavily planted with internal filter (came with the tank), there's bogwood creating a cave like structure and I will be adding some slate structure when I get the time.
My main questions are; how many dwarf gouramis could I comfortably accomadate and what ratio of male to females would be best to prevent the males fighting?
Also I saw what were described as 'neon' gouramis in my lfs being sold as a pair, they looked like the male dwarf gouramis pictured in the species section of this forum, except that one was quite a bit smaller and had less red to it's body, not quite such a pointed dorsal fin either. Would this be a male and female? I thought the females were more silvery?
Thanks in advance to any gouramis experts out there!
