Stupid, but fun question to add: do you have a female gourami in the tank?

It's a site for betta breeding, but the mechanics are the same.

Have you conditioned the fish? Are they in a community tank? Does the female look like she is gravid? Does the nest look sturdy (if not, the female might refuse to mate). So many questions to ask, so if you could give us a better idea of what your setup is like...
