Dwarf Gouramis Kissing?

i have a 3 inch dwarf powder blue gouramis in my ten gallon and i recintly bought him a friend, a small 1 and a half inch dwarf gouramis. it has a grey color with red and blue stripes so i cant tell its gender. the fin appears round with a small point. well the gouramis like to go near each other and poke each other with there feelers, and chase each other. they also look at each other and kiss. It's really odd because they are not kissing gouramis. Is this normal behaviour or do i have a male and a female?

all gouramis are likely to do this. they do touch each other with there feelers ive read somewhere its a way of communication or something

if most gouramis kiss, why are there kissing gouramis? wouldn't they just be a type of gouramis?

Hmm i've never heard of that before? But I guess you learn somthing new everyday lol

The reason that they are called kissing gouramis is because of the way their mouth works. When the breath (or whatever the fish equivilent) their mouths open and it looks like the are puckering up their lips.

My 2 Gourami's used to do this both which were male 1 sunset and 1 powder blue . I was told it was a hierarchy kind of thing to determine who was top dog . My 2 used to feel each other with ther feelers then they'd kinda go on there side dance round each other in a circle they'd either break up or then they'd "kiss" then they'd swim off in opposite directions ! lol

If i still had both i'd record a video and let ya see it

By the sounds of it...it seems to determin who is the dominant male the Gouramis play gay chicken?
