 Awwww lovely. And yes, they will bubble nest, even without females present. They live in perpetual hope that one will turn up brimming with eggs and love them lots. Like most males really. ;)

at seeing the male not giving up at his nest i decided to go out and buy what i think is a female

Lovely lil thing. Only don't expect her to be carrying eggs right now. She's gonna have been stressed from moving etc and chances are she'll be a little too young yet anyway. So don't let her be majorly stressed by an overkeen male.

P.

She's lovely! Depending on what size tank you have and how much room you have for extra fish, it's best to get another female. It's always better to keep gouramies as trios with 2 females per male. This is because a male who wants to breed is likely to chase and stress any females. By having two per male, they will devide his attention so no single fish gets very stressed and both can have a break every now and then from his harassment.

thanks for the advice :D she is doing good a little shy but is still eating a little bit.
Im going to start giving her a little bit of brine shrimp and blood worm to get her into condition
