Zebra Danios seem ok now. My new dwarf gourami is today covered in little white spots which I presume is itch. This is my first case of this. Can you recommend the best way of treating it. I'm afraid I haven't got access to a separate tank. Thanks in anticipation.

hello i currently have ich in my old tank and am in the process of illiminating it, the product i used was protozin by waterlife follow the instruction on the back and repeat if nescescary :) mine are on the road to recvery thanks to this product :)

oh and increase the temp to 30 degrees once the treatment is added and remove any carbon filters as they counteract the treatment :)

hope this helps

Karl.

Just out of interest Karl do you wear gloves when you're working in your tank water? I read this scary article about fish TB which suggested that we could catch all sorts from the water but I was assured elsewhere that this was very rare. I would find wearing gloves quite limiting in terms of making finer adjustments with plants etc and they'd have to come all the way up above my elbows!!!! This hobby could send you demented but I'm OK so far. lol.

It says 'fish crazy' under my name and it's not wrong - crazy being the operative word!

i have never worried about it as after moving things around i generally wash my hands after :) ive never been dangerously ill from it so untill it happens ill keep to just using my hands as they are.
normally stuff is caught from water if you have an open cut etc then an infection gets in and disease. but just be hygenic and im sure you will be fine :)

Karl.
