Dwarf Gourami Loosing Scales.

Hi, my dwarf gourami has been looking off in recent weeks (just physical appearance) he has been acting normally.
but tonight i noticed he has about 5-8 missing scales mainly from around his head but others are towards his tail.
Is this something to worry about or is it him aging naturally?
he is in the tank with a betta at the min (the betta has been very calm but i saw him flaring at the gourami this morning) should i move one of the to another tank?

Hello Lloyd,
You may of answered your concerns yourself "the betta has been very calm but i saw him flaring at the gourami this morning".
Could the betta be showing some aggression towards your gourami.

I did realise that half way through writing it, i still posted it to make sure there is not disease which could cause this?
