Dwarf Gourami Has Something Coming From Body. (parasite?)

I noticed last night my dwarf Gourmai has this thing coming from below his body, i'd like to say worm/parasite but i'm not sure what it is. Last night i thought it was a poo but today i know it's not!!! Also around his fins area it looks bloated, i think it may be connected. I Have no idea what it is, he looks very laboured in his swimming and not really feeding. Picture below.

(It's the long bit coming down along the plant stem).

Looks like bacterial infection. In fact it does look like my honey gourami did before he died. Is the abdomen swollen.

Start treating with an internal bacterial medication.

I think I remember someone telling me theres a bit of a problem with Gouramis and bacterial disease going around at the moment.
