Dwarf Cockatoo Cichlids

They are relatively easy to breed. Apistos are cave breeders so a clay pot or coconut shell will work and they will lay the eggs on the roof of the cave. Try feeding bloodworms to help get them ready to breed

^ They are by no means easy to breed. Unless you have a ph of 7.0 . Then it isnt to hard. But they are extremely hard to breed up here, ph is at 8.6 . You need almost strait R/O for them.

Thats a good ph! I wish i had it. I was always told the straight R/O was at a ph of 7.0! Well, my ph is tentavily flickering over 7.8 Im trying to get my angesl to lay again to see if the eggs will make it this time.

6.5 is ideal for them and a cold water change can help to trigger them to bread :good:

as far as i know, angels eggs dont often turn out to be viable if its over 7

for dwark cocktoos, my mate has them, chuck in a load of coconut shell halves and have one male 2 3 females, keep it below 7 and above 6 (ph), put in some plants too and some live food does wonders

Tolak, the " almost comericial" angel breeder in Chicago's Ph is at 7.8 and he gets fantastic hatch rates. Im just waiting to see if it will work for me.
