Dwarf cichlids

I'm thinking of getting some dwarf cichlids but I really have no clue about them. I've been looking on google for information but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I've only really ever kept livebearers and bettas.

I have a 30 gallon that i'd like to keep them in. At the moment there are 2 b-nose plecos in it. Do cichlids go ok with b-noses?? What are the best types of dwarf cichlids for a 30 gallon tank. I've got pretty soft water. Are cichlids hard to care for?

If someone can give me some links to some really good sites about dwarf cichlids I'd be very happy.

edit: Also I've got no idea how to sex male and female cichlids. How many males should I get? how many females? I only really know about livebearers which is 2-3 females per male.

Is there any type of dwarf that interests you [ there are a few to choose from ] ?

What if any are available to you in your area ?

I keep several species of dwarf cichlids , and have researched many others as well . Most will work in a 30 gallon .
