Sorry if this has been asked before! I've got a 90L tank (23.8 US gal) and would really like to have a pair of dwarf cichlids in it. I was thinking of having a few corys for the bottom and a shoal of tetras. Is there a dwarf cichlid that would be suitable living in a 90 litre?

thanks :)

There are hundreds of dwarf cichlids to choose from. I would go for some Apistogramma species, you could keep a pair in a 90litre tank and if you want to keep an Amazonian theme maybe have a group of 6 Corydoras aeneus and maybe 10 cardinal tetras. Furnish the tank with rocks, bogwood and fine sand for the corys. Remeber that the cichlids will become territorial during spwaning and will harass the other fish.

Apistos are a good choice.
Or Blue Rams. Bolivian Rams should be fine too.
Keyhole Cichlids, Ive never seen them get bigger than 4".

Blue rams are stunning and also entertaining. Very nice natured. Very friendly and curious.

Brilliant, thanks for the replies! I had been thinking about a pair of rams, will also take a look at apistogrammas. Just wanted to make sure the tank was suitable. Off to read up! :thanks:
