I got one of these fish to live on his/her own in a community tank of platys, hoplo catfish and a baby siver shark (he's moving to a 90g when big enough). They are in a 30g and the brichardi is so beautiful. Is this tank big enough? I don't intend to get any more brichardis as research says they get too aggressive when breeding.

I've never heard of a Dwarf Brichardi, but Neolamprologus Brichardi is fine for life in a 30 gallon - he might not be fine for life with your community fish so keep an eye on him. You are right about breeding - a pair would need a 30 gallon to themselves with no other fish.

Thanks freddyk. That's what I've go, a neolamprologus brichardi. Beautiful!!!
Eventually, the community fish, platys etc., will go to another tank, leaving hplo cats and maybe a mini plec such as a pitbull or a few otos.

My first experience with bris was in a community tank with 2 adult angels, a male betta, a small school of tetras (too long ago to remember what kind exactly), a small school of cory cats, and the single brichardi. Never had a bit of problem, this was a very peaceful tank for many years.

A year or so ago I bought a small group of bris with the intent of breeding them. My experience has been that once a pair forms, any other bri in the tank will be bullied mercilessly. They are excellent parents...or great as a single fish in a community tank.
