Ok i just noticed that i put 2 swordtails in my tank with only 1 female swordleft cause the female swordtail that had 80 babies possibly more died this morning probly from pressure an exaustion...from all that well since i have 1 female sword now an 2 males they proably won't mate?... :dunno:

Yeah, with swordtails, they will most likely breed again. If u dont want them too, youl have to remove either the males or females obviously.

It would be better to add 3-4 more females. Depending on the size of the tank.

Your female swordtail is probably already pregnant, so no worries on that account. And the males will continue to try to inseminate her any chance they get. It's not for mating that the 2:1 ratio is suggested. Males will harrass females intently in their efforts to mate, and so having multiple females will reduce the harrassment each INDIVIDUAL female receives. Also, males will often compete with each other for the right to mate with females, and this can get dangerous, resulting in injury or death when it gets severe. Having more females than males means plenty of females to go around, and, while the males may still fight, it is much less likely that they will do so.

Haha she's already pregnant lol..fish are like pimps..i had 2 females but she passes away the next day after she let 80-90 fry out..possibly more hard to tell but it was alot..cause she was HUGE...when she was done u could hardly tell..she got slim after that..
