i know its a floating plant but if i insert duckweed in the send like u would glosso, do u think it could work?

or should i just go for a java moss carpet?

also how could i accomplish a java moss carpet?

Creating a java moss carept is easy. You can either attach the moss to many little pebbles or rocks that cover the area you want to capret. Over the course of a few weeks / months depending on your setup the java moss will fill out, covering the entire substrate.

Or you can get two pieces of wire mess and sandwich the java moss between the two. Again in a few weeks the java moss will grow and create a nice looking carpet.

You need to trim the java moss regulary in order to keep it looking good, otherwise it can look rather messy.

I said no because a carpet of java moss would be a haven for debris, i wouldnt recommend it cause i have hard enough time keeping my java moss on my driftwood clean.

look into riccia as a lawn :) look at jimboos tanks for inspiration :)

regarding java moss it can and will get dirty so if you are planning to do a java moss lawn its best to get shrimps that clean it up (or something similar) :) my nano tank was infested with algae (brown and hair) so i transferred a few shrimps and snails into the tank and in a week or so it was almost algae free, allowing the plants to take hold of the tank over the algae. (i have removed most of the shrimps and placed it in my main tank again, so far the algae is still under control)

yeah, i just tossed my java moss, because it was FULL of crap and i was sick of cleaning it!! there's still a little attached to my bogwood, but that's it.
