Well, now that they're a month old, I should probably post their first pics. :p There's only two of them unfortunately. I'm REALLY hoping one's male and one's female, but with my luck that probably won't be the case. :p

Yes, the tank floor is really dirty... although the pictures make it look worse than it really is. It's mostly needles from the hornwort that was in there anyway... it got mad at me for putting too much IAL in the water methinks. The both have ventrals anyway, so who cares. ;)

This one is very slightly smaller than the other one. He/she is a beautiful green color, like mom. :D

This one was slightly less cooperative with the camera. He/she likes to pick on the poor greenie.

Such good looking bettas, I personally never saw that variety before with clear fins, I always saw the blue, red kinds. If I ever had a choice I would definitly get that variety, may I ask what kind they are?

Well, they're still babies so their full coloring isn't in yet. The green one will probably stay that color, but the other one... who knows what he'll look like when he grows up. :) The father of these guys is a green DTPK and mom is a masked green CT, which means these babies are combtails. Breeding them together (if they're male and female... I hoooope!) should get the beginnings of CTPKs and DTCTPKs. I can't find pics of a CTPK at the moment... and I've never even seen a DTCTPK.

there. i'm not sure if its a DTCTPK or just a DTCT, but it should give you some idea of the general tail type. i like :good:

good luck with the babies!

edit: it is just a DTCT. sorry.

Great picture, thanks!! That fish is absolutely stunning. It's really a DTCT? Must be a young one still with short fins then. He is just gorgeous either way though!

Ebil's starting to color up. :) Really wish the red wasn't there but dad carries red-loss so it doesn't bother me that much.

And the tank is getting vacuumed tomorrow really well, so don't worry. :p

They are stunning did you get more babies than that or is that just how many hatched??? you are very lucky if they do turn out like that pic posted.
Good Luck Keep Us Posted...

Thanks so much for sharing the pics, I love seeing the progression they make over time. Really, I have yet to see anyone post a full set of pics from birth up to adulthood. Keep 'em comin!

Thanks everyone! :)

Faithless: There's only two of them, unfortunately. Dad deciding to eat the eggs, so only a few hatched, and only these two guys made it this far. It's fine with me really, as long as they're male and female, since this is the "transition generation" and the next generation will start producing the fish I'm really looking for. ^_^

what cuties!!
it might be a bit early to start sexing...but your green ones anal fin looks rounded and girly, and your blue ones anal fin looks pointy and boyish, so you may get lucky yet!

i'm jealous.

in the next generation if they are male and female i want one! :good:
ebil's adorable.

Welps, we've got a little boy on our hands, guys! Look how he's bloomed in just a day or so. ^_^ Let's hope Greenie stays looking like a girl... she follows Ebil around even though he bullies her, lol. Silly girl.

Dominance stripes!
