lol. it was the magnesium ribbon and fuse wire that burns under water that cought my eye. had some fun with those at school.

do they do the setting fire to magnesium trick in chemistry still? it's been a while since i was in school.

on another visit to the site i may have got carried away, all i can actually find that is of use to us is KNO3 (unless i missed something). oh well at least they sell something thats usefull. zig, gf225, anything else on here of any interest?

I'd get sent to prison for trying to buy some of that stuff in the States. Chloroform? Yikes!!! There are ALOT of dangerous and extremely illegal chemicals on there. Ammonium Nitrate.....Oklahoma City right there. (clears cache)

9.80GBP for 500g KNO3 isn't the cheapest.

I prefer give my support to this hobby by buying from a dedicated planted aquarium outlet i.e. Aqua Essentials. But at the same time I understand people want to save cash where they can.

I recently ordered chemicals for my planted tanks. I used the link found in Zigs EI post(very cheep by the way)....When I picked the chems up, fed ex said "we have to ask what you are using this for, it could be used to make a bomb..."so I told them it was to blow up my fish tank....they laughed....

I don't recommend saying this, especially in sensitive areas where terrorism may be a big issue. "Sense of humour failure" springs to mind.

Wow, interesting site. I've ordered a lot of those chemicals before when I worked in a chemistry lab, but you needed a purchase order from a qualified institution to do it. I had no idea that anyone with a credit card and a mailing address could get a hold of that kind of stuff.
