im 80% sure 1 of my oldest corys ( pretty much had him from day 1 ) could have dropsy swollen abdomen scales sem to be sticking out a bit too. cant think of anything else it could be. i have got some interpet anti internal bacteria meds. is it worth trying ?

Thought corys didn't have scales.
What do you feed your fish.
What does it look like when he goes to the toilet.
Any red streaking on sores on the body of the corys.
Does he lay to onside on the substrate.
Once scales stick out organ failure.
All you can do is try epson salt baths to help draw the fluids out. Try a bacterial med in issolation

learn something new every day lol i always assumed all fish did. to be fair theres a couple of places where it looks like it could be . but generally just looks all bloated. otherwise seems happy enough. no redness etc. they eat sinking pellets bloodworm . it doesnt lay on 1 side on the sand. best way i can describe it really is he seems so fat in the very middle of his belly that when he stops to rest his head/tail ends cant touch the sand .

Bloodworm can't bloat fish up if you over feed them. Only feed twice a week and only a few.

Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down and pop out of shell. Mush into small peices and add to the tank.
Must pop out of shell as fish can't digest the shell.
Also introduce some brime strimp and daphnia into there diet.
Daphnia good as it helps the fish digest its food.
Are the bloodworms frozen, live or freeze dried.

You can buy frozen food packs with four different foods in them, like brime strimp, daphnia, blood worms, micro worms,

He's that bloated its lifting his tail of the substrate.

i did have a silmilar problem with a firemouth some time ago. turned out to be constipated , sorted it with peas. i will cut the bloodworm back as much as i can but it is pretty much the only thing my little green sev will eat along with shrimp ( live ) for now i will try some peas . also maybe when feeding the sev and also the blue acara who loves bloodworm too i will put in a smaller amount but more often so less likely to make its way to the bottom,

Corys do have scales so sorry. Someone told be years ago that corys were scaless fish.

Still feed the bloodworms but not to much.
Good Luck.

More likely to be constipation or she has a belly full of eggs IMO,
especially considering how well you seem to maintain your tank and occupants

yeah prob just saw a fat fish and pannicked lol. its sprightly enough just real fat. and typically totally ignoring the peas

Only found out last week that inchworm said corys will only have a little nibble of a pea.
Remove the uneatne peas after aday.
I would get some daphnia.
I wouldn't feed the cory for two days.
Can you issolate the cory.
