10 days ago I found that two of my male guppies had dropsy (1 was pineconing the other just very slightly raised scales on stomach area), I set up the Q tank and transferred it over and started treating with Interpet no9. At this point the water results for the main tank were
pH 7.2
Ammonia 0
NitrIte 0
NitrAte 10
GH 6
KH 4
Before and after a 70% water change.
Three days later one of them died, but the other one didn't seem to be getting any worse, continued treating as per instructions, then 4 days ago I found another suspect looking guppy so it was removed into the Q tank and I also did another large water change on the main tank and decided to treat the main tank as well as I hoped to prevent any more cases.
water results that night were
pH 7.2
Ammonia 0
NitrIte 0
NitrAte 5
GH 6
KH 4
and they have been consistantly at those levels since I completed my fishless cycle in october.
One of the Quarantined guppies died today and checking on the main tank I'm not 100% convinced that the four remaining adults are healthy (but maybe I'm just paranoid). The main tank recieved its 2nd dose of Interpet no9 tonight but now I'm wondering if I should maybe take the remaining guppies out and put them into the Q tank, but the Q tank is only 15L so not really big enough for them all (5 adult males including the one that definately has dropsy (now pineconing if I had clove oil I would euthanise it but I can't get any until tomorrow)
Sorry its so long
Nothing new has been added in the last month when I added the shrimp after their Q period
Short version: Should I risk leaving them where they are or should I give them an almost certain death sentence and put them in the Q tank? And does anyone have any idea how long it might take for symptoms to show up in my other fish?
48" X 15" X 18" (210 litres approx)
18 harlequins
4 BN plecs
1 Zebra danio
cherry/amano shrimp
Thanks in advance.
