i have just noticed that one of my guppies in my guppie tank has dropsy.
she is just laying at the bottom not moving and breathing real hard. her scales are pinconeing but not bad.
its probably too late for her but am i right that i need to treat the whole tank now?
whats the best thing to treat them with?

It depends, mainly, on the cause. Dropsy is a symptom, not an illness in itself.
You'd be best quarantining the dropsied fish and treating her with a few epsom salt baths, google for exact instructions, ONLY treat with Epsom, never aquarium salt. Its use is to help draw off excess fluid from the bloated fish.
Maybe check your feeding regime and correct it if neccessary. If you can't narrow the possible causes down consider purchasing and keeping to hand/treating in advance with a decent anti-bacterial.

about 2 weeks ago i found a dead guppie that was severely pine coned. does that do anything for you? oh and the fish was dead when i came home :rip:

im worried about the rest of my guppies. im going to be moving 23 more young ones into there in a few days so i don't want them to get infected before i sell them on.

How often do you perform water changes?
I would perform another one now, if you haven't done one recently. Dropsy can come from poor water quality.

Take a look here!!

wc every week gravel vac every 2 weeks. did one when i saw her this morning.

ahhhhhhhhhhh i just noticed that two more females have it!!!. not that bad though. they also have some white fungus looking stuff on them. what do i treat them with? im going to get some epsom salt today, but what else?
