So the past few months I've had a snail problem in my tank. I even turned it into a slightly brackish tank to hopefully rid the tank of some of them and they did go away for quite sometime. Now they are back and bigger than they were. It's almost like they have mutated into some weird snail that can get around salt water!

I got a weekend feeder and put it in a betta cup with some holes punched in the top to lure them in and then take them out like that. Anybody think this will work?

If not any other ideas?

Actually, the feeder will probably make the problem worse. The number one cause of a snail population explosion is over feeding. How often do you feed and how much? I had trumpet snails so bad at one time that I had to remove and change all the sand to get rid of them. Cut back on how much and often you feed. You can sometimes catch them by putting a lettuce leaf in the tank and then once the snail get on it, take it out and remove them.

Add CopperSafe to the tank for a month. It will wipe them out in no time, and it stays in the tnak for a month. It damages the egg's when layed, so they dont hatch, and damages the exposed part of the snail shell. It is the only way that i've found work's. Every other snail remover kills other thing's besides snail's, including my other fish. CopperSafe isnt even snail killer, but it does anyway!

I feed my fish two times a day with two small pinches. They seem to eat it all I guess I miss some though.

Yeah I tried HadASnail and it didn't do a thing

I had a bad snail problem once then I got this stuff at thetore that was called snal be gone ( no joke )
so in a couple days the snails were gone but then I had about 200 of these tiny shells lol :hyper:

One potential problem with killing all the snails is a mossible ammonia spike from the decaying snails. Keep an eye on your water parameters.
